The small garden was designed to work on two levels, as a peaceful contemplative space on ground level as well as enjoyed from within the house and patio two metres above. Given the difficulties of access, two large advanced trees were craned into the site bringing immediate greenery through the French doors of the residence.
The deciduous trees are uplit in the evening creating a stunning backdrop. Random irregular bluestone steppers bring visual drama to the sunken courtyard when viewed from the terrace.
